The Google Grants program has selected the HPS Network to participate in its special advertising program for non-profit groups. The grant will provide the HPS Network with up to $10,000 worth of text ads advertising on the Google search engine per month. The Network will be able to customize when our ads appear by choosing strategic words associated with HPS such as “albinism” or “pulmonary fibrosis”. When a person searches for these chosen words on the Google search engine, our ads may appear.
Google text ads are sold in an auction-like style, thus we will be using our grant credits to bid for our desired search words. As a result, you won’t always see an HPS ad when you search for our terms on Google.
The HPS Network experimented with purchasing our own ads two years ago; however, we were always outbid because of our budget constraints as a small organization. This grant will help us to reach out to those who may need to learn about HPS and will further the Hundred People Search.
The HPS Network would like to offer a special thanks to Matt McIntyre for filling out the paperwork to make this grant possible, and to the Google Grants program for helping us to generate greater awareness of HPS.
