Heather Kirkwood has been a journalist for more than a decade.  She served as Senior Editor of EXPO Magazine, an international magazine for exhibition and conference planners, for 10 years. In addition, she has worked as a freelance journalist for the Kansas City Business Journal, the South China Morning Post and Firstline, a veterinary medicine magazine, among others.  Ms. Kirkwood has also served on the HPS Board of Directors since 2002.  She co-moderates two Yahoo! groups, one for friends and family of those that have HPS, and one for adults with HPS.  She also edits the newsletter, Web site and works on a variety of outreach projects.
