Wilfredo De Jesús Rojas, MD, MSc, FAAP, FATS

Dr. Wilfredo De Jesús is a Pediatric Pulmonologist and physician-scientist, passionate about advocating for patients with rare lung disorders in Puerto Rican children, including patients with Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome.  he completed his medicine degree at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Science Campus in 2012 and further pursued a Pediatric Pulmonary Subspecialty Fellowship at the University of Texas, McGovern Medical School, Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.

Presently, Dr. De Jesús is an assistant professor at Ponce Health Sciences University and holds the position of medical director at the Pediatric Rare Lung Diseases and Asthma Institute in Puerto Rico.  He is part of the HPS Adult and Pediatric Multidisciplinary Clinics on the island.  He is the co-author on several abstracts and a book chapter about HPS.  In 2022, he earned a Postdoctoral Master’s in Clinical and Translational Research from the University of Puerto Rico’s School of Health Professionals.

His research interests are extensive, covering rare pediatric lung diseases like Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome.  His dedication to these fields is crucial in advancing medical knowledge and treatment options for these complex genetics conditions.
